Social Media Consolidation!

Holy social media Batman!

Let me first say I’ve loved Tumblr! However, some serious consolidation is required as we enter 2012. With Google+, Facebook and Twitter to manage (at the minimum) I am reminding myself of the K.I.S.S. theory that has saved me from feeling overwhelmed more than once in m life.

To Keep It Simple Silly, I’ve decided not to use the Tubmlr as my blog and direct all you wonderful visitors to the www.tweetmywedding.com blog-site. I’m leaving the site up here, but it won’t be updated in 2012.

Come visit us on Facebook! You can friend me, Mindy. You can follow the TweetMyWedding’s Wedding Twitter Fan Page to get caught up on all your overheard wedding twitter.

Don’t forget that you can follow us at our home of homes, Twitter.

Thanks for being a fan!

How to get Re-Tweeted by @TweetMyWedding in 2011

We love real weddings. We love real people. The brides, grooms, guests & the vendors. Every one of you! Sharing this love is the center of what Wedding Twitter is about.

We are addicted to what you tweet, and so are our followers. The overheard wedding twitter  of everyday folks gets shared via our #owt on weekends & Wednesdays. We delight in cake twitter with #SweetTweets on Thursdays (thank you bakers!) and happily devour the eye candy on #PhotoFriday (thank you photographers!).

What started out on a whim and a giggle two years ago this month has grown to over eleven thousand followers who also love to read your Wedding Twitter and share in on your experiences via your photos and videos.

So how do you (live wedding tweeters and vendors) go about getting our attention and thus get connected to our followers? Easily.

1. Use your phone & it’s camera. Connect simply and text your tweets and pics or get one of the many apps out there (if you don’t know how, ask a teen).

2. KISS - Keep it simple. Tweets that link straight to twitpic, twitgoo, yfrog, plixi, ustream and youtube show in your right column of new twitter and it’s awesome. The less amounts of clicks to find your info the better.

3. We all sorts of search terms to find the best wedding twitter, but by addressing us - @TweetMyWedding, #TweetMyWeding or #WeddingTwitter, you know you’ll be seen.

We take the best, re tweet it & archive it for the search engines. Twitter + weddings = Wedding Twitter.

So join us and Tweet YOUR Wedding, you never know it may just go viral in 2011!

Happy New Year!

With Love,

Mindy
